Q16: Install my print server in Mac OSX?
Q1   In the PSAdmin, my printer status is always shown off line when my USB printer is attached to my multi-port print server.¡¨ How can I get my print server ¡§on line¡¨?
A: As three ports of print server have to be attached with printers, the status of the print server will be shown as "on line". Howerver, if all configuration is correct, print server still could work fine even shown as off-line.
Q2   My printer has some communication errors with print server. What should I do?
A: Most printer manufacturers have their own bi-directional communication application that is usually called printer status monitor application. Thus, printers have the ability to talk back to your computer in order to advise your computer of a print job's status, paper status including the occasional jam.

However, when you add a print server between the printer and computer as above figure. The printer isn¡¦t directly connected to computer. Moreover, the print server is not smart enough to understand printer¡¦s bi-direction message. At this time, the print job will be interrupted. This printer status monitor will send a warning message: ¡§My printer has some communication errors¡K¡¨ So print job will be held until deleting this print job manually. So please refer to the below instruction to solve this problem:

1. Please uninstall the original printer driver and reinstall the driver from the "Add a printer" Wizard in the Printer and Faxes, instead of directly executing printer-accompanied installer Setup.exe.

2. Change the "print processor" to the default "WinPrint > RAW"

3. Disable the bi-directional function of the printer as below:

Q3   My printer can¡¦t print out. What should I do?
A: Please try to setup as following and see how it works,

1. Please uninstall the original printer driver and reinstall the driver from the "Add a printer" Wizard in the Printer and Faxes, instead of directly executing printer-accompanied installer Setup.exe.

2. Change the "print processor" to the default "WinPrint > RAW".

3. Disable the bi-directional function of the printer.

If the print server still can¡¦t work with your printer, please make sure if your printer is host-based printer. So far our print server is incompatible with host-based printer. If your printer is non-GDI printer, please contact us for further assistance.

A: Repotec print server is designed for the command printer language PCL and Postscript so Repotec print server could be able to compatible with most printers. These listed printers have been tested by our testing center and also works fine with our print server.
Q4  Why does my printer print garbage?
A: There are two possible reasons for printing garbage:

1. Your printer might be installed with a wrong driver. Please uninstall the original driver and install the proper driver via ¡§Add a printer¡¨ in ¡§Faxes and Printers¡¨.

2. The print speed of print server might not match your printer¡¦s speed. Please change the print speed of your print server to slow in the PSAdmin as below figure.

Q5  Could my all-in-one multi machine apply to REPOTEC print server?
A: Currently only print function might work fine with REPOTEC printer server. REPOTEC print server doesn¡¦t support the other functions, e.g. faxing, copy and scanner function.
Q6  What is the port (queue) name when I use LPD/LPR?
A: One port is lp1; three ports for lp1, lp2 and lp3
Q7 I forget the password of print server? How can I reset the password?
A: Please type PSPASS in the PSAdmin utility and then you can change password setting
Q8 What is the port number of print server when using LPR/LPD printing?
A: We use the UDP port 515 as the port number for LPR/LPD printing.
Q9 Why can¡¦t I save my configuration?
A: There should be over one piece of NIC used in your computer. Please leave only one NIC when you configure the print server. And then you will save its configuration.
Q10 How to load my print server to its default value?

A: Please be advised that the print server can be restored it default value but not including the IP setting. The print sever still will keep the original IP address, not the default IP. There are two different procedures for load default,

If the reset button is built-in your print server, please refer to below instruction for the load default procedure,
